Old Lantern Lane enjoys a maritime heritage thanks to it’s location in historic Southold, New York. Howell Hall was built only a short walk away from where the first colonial Americans landed to establish the first town in New York at Founder’s Landing in the 1650s.
The area can best be described as the coastal countryside where farm-to-table and slow living have been part of the North Fork lifestyle for generations. Hard working farmers harvested food and crops on the richly abundant soil here, which today is incredibly popular for growing grapes at the many fine vineyards that now beautify the landscape interspersed with the traditionally grown food and flowers that grace tables here and across the country.
