Howell Hall’s Library includes a large number of antique and historic books from both the collections of the Howell and Griffin families as well as Emme Chatterton. These books range the gamut from an heirloom family bible dating to the late 1600s to a large collection of 18th and 19th century literature, music sheets, and religious texts to antique beautifully leather and vintage canvas bound pieces, to large format 20th century nonfiction and art books.
Unsalvageable books from the collection are repurposed or reimagined into works of art, memorabilia, and collectible historic objects which periodically appear on offer at Old Lantern Lane’s shop.
